A sure sign of spring are the golden morels that magically appear with just the right combination of sunshine and moisture. I love the sneaky nature of these beautiful dwellers of the forest floor - you have to look closely to find them - then once you’ve seen one they all seem to reveal themselves to you, almost as if they are applauding you for taking the time to slow down and pay attention.

I make this sweet little morel necklace by melting down my silver scrap and then carefully carving the silver to show the delicate texture of the morel. The little mushroom measures approximately 1/2 - 9/16 inch tall by 1/4 - 5/16 inch wide. The morel pendant hangs on an 18 inch oxidized sterling silver chain. I finish the necklace with a patina to show depth and texture.
