Flora and Fauna Collection
In this line of jewelry I combine recycled sterling silver, gold fill, steel, brass, and copper to create simple, graceful designs for any wardrobe or occasion. Each design is inspired by plants, animals, and the universe we all inhabit.
Bunchberry Necklace
Bunchberry Necklace
Bunchberry plants can be found carpeting the sides of some of my favorite trails in the Bitterroot Mountains - the graceful symmetry of the flowers inspired this necklace. Made from oxidized recycled sterling silver “bracts” with a brass “umbel” in the center, the flowers are surrounded by oxidized sterling silver leaves, all of which are securely soldered together. The pendant measures approximately 1 5/16 inches high, 1 inch wide, and ½ inch deep. It hangs on an adjustable (worn at 18 or 20 inch) chain with a unique handmade sterling silver toggle clasp. To wear the necklace at 20 inches, simply slide the toggle through the end ring of the chain. To wear it at 18 inches, slide the toggle through the end ring, then double it back and slide the toggle through the ring farther down the chain, as shown in the sixth image.
